YouTube Sensation – Jason Chen X Clara C Live In Singapore

JNation Entertainment presents ‘Jason Chen X Clara C Live In Singapore’ on 26 July 2013 (Friday) in a one-night only performance.

About Clara C

Clara C was born on October 31, 1987 to South Korean-born parents who currently reside in Northridge, California. Clara graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and a minor in Education in 2010

In a 2011 interview after the release of her first album, Clara said that she initially was not particularly motivated to post videos of her singing and guitar playing on YouTube, but was encouraged by her friends to try it out. It turned out to be a good thing, and now Clara posts music videos to offer a different version of a song or “launch her own stuff”. Chung describes the music in her album, The Art in My Heart, as being diverse and “taking on a lot of different sounds.” “There are songs that are very much like Sara Bareilles and others that are more like Coldplay. And there are other songs that I can’t categorize. I guess if you want to sum up influences, I’d say definitely Sara Bareilles, John Mayer, Feist. I try to take the best of all these artists that I really admire and somehow incorporate them in my music.”

In 2010, Clara won the Kollaboration LA competition after writing a new song Offbeat, and performing it at the competition held at the University of Southern California.

In April 2010, Clara worked with other popular artists such as rappers Dumbfoundead and Jay Park.

Jaden Smith Joins “Moon That Embraces The Sun” Couple For NYLON

Feature Image

Young actors of the world unite!

Jaden Smith was in South Korea recently to promote his film After Earth (In fact Jay Park was chosen to contribute a song to the film). While there he joined Kim Yoo Jung and Yeo Jin Goo to pose for NYLON magazine’s June 2013 issue. It’s fitting that an up in coming Hollywood actor should be grouped together with these two young stars. Yeo Jin Goo and Kim Yoo Jung played the younger counterparts of the drama’s main couple. Yeo Jin Goo has gone on to play a role in Missing You while Kim Yoo Jung acted in May Queen.

[24-7KPOP EXCLUSIVE] Jay Park Teams Up With X-MINI In Singapore

20130520_173251

So it’s the official launch of Jay Park’s X-MINI collection and 24-7KPOP got to have our very first glance at the new X-MINI!

It’s simple, cool and awesome just like how Jay described it to be like he himself, simple and cool! When I entered the venue, Jay’s music was on replay and they prepared water for everyone at the back which is real considerate and nice of the organizers. I really love the door gift they prepared for us.

During the press conference, he praised how the x-mini was so awesome and great that he received samples from X-Mini and gave some to his friends to try it and that he personally loves it because he can share the music with others.

When they officially unveiled Jay Park’s X-Mini, Jay played his latest song JOAH using the speaker and it sounded really great through this speaker even though the songs itself is awesome.

During the press conference, he did a few pouts and some cute actions. When Ms Lee said that something was a secret, Jay at the side, put his finger up and did the “Shss, it’s a secret” face and it was really adorable.

Jay is really nice as he look at very camera for this event and pose nicely for them. Jay commented:

“Music and dance are my life and when the opportunity to work with X-mini came up, I was really excited because these little boomboxes really pump out the tunes! I am so grateful for all the support that my fans, the Jaywalkerz, have shown me over the years and this was just something I wanted to do for them so that they would feel like they have a part of me wherever they are while they are listening to my music.”

After the press conference, X-Mini presented to Jay, his very own set of Jay Park’s X-Mini in a yellow box and as soon as he received it, he tried to open and couldn’t. He really looks like a little boy excited to open his present! He really loves it and you can see that from our photos.
The showcase started slightly later than the original timing but the emcee did his job to keep everyone occupied till Jay is ready for the showcase and honestly speaking, it was worth the wait. Jay’s performance was really worth waiting for. During his showcase, he showcased not only his amazing voice by singing his latest song “JOAH” and along with a couple of other songs such as Not Over You, Girlfriend, he showcased his flexibility and his B-Boy talent and did a few moves at the showcase making everyone, the media, and JayWalkerz at Velvet Underground to be extremely hyped up by it. Not forgetting to thanks his fans for coming to the showcase, he showered everyone with his swag and cool fan service.

At the ending of the song Girlfriend he asked a couple of girls whether they are that girlfriend of his and I actually nodded and said “Yes” making everyone at the Velvet Underground laugh out loud. He showed concern to the fans at the back too. He sang to the fan, “You look pretty down, is it you?” and it definitely made her cheer up as she screamed happily. And during his other songs, Jay gave his attention to the two little girls at the side and even hi-fived them after he finished his showcase.

There’s this real playful and caring side of Jay, don’t you think so?

B.A.P Invades Los Angeles [REVIEW+ PICS + VIDEOS]

The boys brought it…and they brought it HARD!

There are really some days (actually a lot) when I forget that our lovely alien bunnies debuted just last year. Never once did they seem like rookies: They rocked it with their debut MV and took to the stage like pros. No other group in the history of KPOP, I believe, can really say the same thing. They kept the consistency, knocking out multiple GOOD albums in less than a year. It’s no surprise that Verizon thought of the group when they were planning their Verizon APAHM (Asian Pacific America History Month) Tour this year.

What seemed like thousands of fans (Babies) lined up around Los Angeles’ Staples Center complex to get ready for the concert on May 7th, including more than a few that started around 2-3AM the night before. By the time I made it to the line (around 3PM), the lucky fans that had shown up before noon were gifted with a stamp on their wrists and the ability to go upstairs to wait. The rest of us “latecomers” stayed downstairs outside, wrapping around a few blocks for the next few hours. B.A.P. fanclubs passed out banners, stickers, and lightsticks and fans mingled with the likes of choreographer Aimee Lee Lucas, Danny Im (1TYM, Danny From LA), and host of the evening, comedian/Kollaboration creator, PK.

Around an hour and a half before the show start, our group (or at least part of it) was allowed upstairs, where the crowd performed for the cameras on site, including B.A.P songs and chants. Korean-American actor, James Kyson (Heroes), jumped into the crowd to join in the revelry and to interview a few fans. The doors opened and cheers of excitement followed everyone inside.

At first glance, the stage looked dark and uneventful, but soon commercials started to play as more of the crowd poured in. Images of B.A.P, mixed in with footage from worldwide performances from other artists, mingled with the frantic chants for B.A.P to take to the stage.

MC Paul Kim (PK) came out to greet the crowd, announcing that he cannot wait for his young daughter to grow up so that he can accompany her to KPOP concerts. Jason Chen, Youtube singing sensation, performed a few of his hits as the fans in the crowd sang and swayed along. Next, Youtube cutie, Clara C, bounced onto the stage, with the fans whispering their admiration of how bubbly and cute she is in person. Clara lit up the crowd, performing her hits, a few covers, and announcing that her new music video, involving jumping on trampolines, was released that same day. She spurred the crowd along, asking them to scream and cheer as they would for B.A.P. As she bowed and left the stage, the lights lowered……the fans got louder, chanting “B.A.P!”

The lights came on and the action started. The boys performed hit Warrior with a more mellow, acoustic flair. The magic never ceased, from beginning to end.

THE SETLIST:

1.Warrior
2.What The Hell
3.No Mercy
BREAK
4.I Remember Acoustic Ver.
5.Secret Love
6.Rain Sound
MEMBER INTROS
7.I Believe I Can Fly (Daehyun & Youngjae)
8.Teach Me How To Dougie & Never Give Up (Zelo & Jongup)
9.Sexy Clap (Himchan & Bang Yong Guk)
10.Bang Yongguk – DJing
11.Oneshot
12.Punch
13.Fight For Freedom
14.Power
15.My First Kiss
16.Goodbye
ENCORE
17.Coma
18.Dancing In The Rain
19.Stop It
20.Crash!

HIGHLIGHTS:

1) For Secret Love, Jongup sang Bang Yong Guk‘s part and Himchan sang Daehyun‘s part
2) This was one of the rare live performances of Himchan joining the rest of the members to perform One Shot
3) Daehyun cutely pronounced “Fly” as “Pry/Ply” during his emotional duet with Youngjae.
4) Yong Guk blew kisses, did body rolls, and grabbed his crotch suggestively a few times during My First Kiss. All the other guys followed suit, with a few (ala Youngjae) looking embarrassed to do it.
5) During one of the “down times,” the members took turns climbing the steps of the stage to stand in a body outline of themselves. A meter turned on, revealing details (age, height, weight, mannerisms) of each member as they took turns. Yong Guk’s mentioned his gummy smile and love of sports, to which he asked the crowd if they liked The LA Dodgers and other local sports teams. Youngjae’s mentioned he was emotional and he displayed his various “emotional outbursts.” Jongup danced during his turn, while Zelo beatboxed during his. Daehyun’s revealed that he knows 7 different high notes, and with Yong Guk’s urging, he displayed his octave range to a very impressed crowd. Himchan smiled shyly to the crowd during his turn (I was highly amused that one of his talents that showed up was “counting calories”). The display revealed that Zelo was 6’03″ tall (the tallest) while Jongup was the shortest (at 5’77″).
6) Fans started throwing toys and items of clothing on stage, although various members (including Himchan and Youngjae) urged fans to stop. [We at 24-7KPOP urge fans of the future shows to NOT throw things on stage. They can be a hazard to the boys and their dancers.]
7) Jongup and Zelo did the Dougie until a dancer (staged) showed up with a light to break it up. Then, the boys started dancing/rapping to Never Give Up.
8) Himchan bowed to the audience and took pics of the venue, the fans, their signs, etc., with his own personal camera. Then B.A.P’s photographer stood atop a high point on the stage and took a group shot of the boys in front of all the fans.
9) B.A.P bowed to the fans after their last song, joined by their dancers. Yong Guk laughed as Zelo popped up while everyone stayed bowed, saying something apparently very funny but unheard over the fan noise.

All-in-all, it was a great show. It was very upsetting to me (and other media personnel at the concert) that press access was not given for this concert. This is a complete 360 from last year’s festivities that involved Jay Park. If anything on the night needed improving, it was on this front. The boys of B.A.P was wonderful, giving their all in only their second performance stage in the United States (KCON’12 was their first). The remaining 3 cities on the tour (San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York City) will be in for quite a show!

Jay Park’s Bed Scene in “Welcome” MV Too Racy?

Jay Park recently released his music video for "Welcome" last week and it has been a hot topic of interest online.

In particular, Jay Park's steamy bedroom scenes with actress Oh Cho Hee have drawn a mixture of responses. Even though they only last a couple of seconds during the entire music video, they make quite the lasting impression. The rest of the video allows fans to enjoy Jay Park's built torso and defined abs as he successfully serenades and seduces them with his charm.

The lyrics of "Welcome" describe a man's feelings for his woman and how he would express those feelings to her by making love to her. The content is rated 19 and over for its mature themes and yet fans have given it a mixture of responses- most of them loving the daring attempt to portray a more adult type of relationship love.

Some of the comments the video received were the following, "Isn't this a little too racy?", "Wow, Oh Cho Hee did an amazing job!", "Jay Park's muscles are so sexy" and "The scenes between Jay Park and Oh Cho Hee make you breathless!"
